The Victoria Memorial (Victoria Memorial Hall) is a large marble building inKolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal, India which was built between 1906 and 1921. It is dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria (1819 to 1901) and is now a museum and tourist destination under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The Memorial lies on the Maidan (grounds) by the bank of the Hooghly river, near Jawaharlal Nehru road.

The Batasia Loop is a spiral railway created to lower the gradient of ascent of theDarjeeling Himalayan Railway in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India. At this point, the track spirals around over itself through a tunnel and over a hilltop. It was commissioned in 1919.

Tsongmo Lake or Changu Lake is a glacial lake in the East Sikkim, India, some 40 kilometres (25 mi) away from Gangtok at elevation of 3,780 m (12,400 ft). The road to Nathu La passes the lake on north side. The Chinese border crossing is only some 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east-northeast in a straight line, but some 18 kilometres (11 mi) by road. Indian Postal Service released a commemorative stamp on the lake on 6 November 2006.

Tiger Hill is located in Darjeeling, in the Indian State of West Bengal, and is the summit of Ghoom, the highest railway station in the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for its spectacular panoramic view ofMount Everest and Mt. Kangchenjunga together, and dawn is the best time to witness this marvel. It is 11 km from the town of Darjeeling and can be reached either by jeep or by foot through Chowrasta, Alubari (incidentally the oldest tea plantation in Darjeeling) or Jorebangla and then climbing up the incline to the summit, which takes about 2 hours at an easy pace.

Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Himalayas. It connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The pass, at 4,310 m (14,140 ft) above mean sea level, forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Silk Road. Nathu means "listening ears" and Lameans "pass" in Tibetan. On the Indian side, the pass is 54 km (34 mi) east of Gangtok, the capital of Indian state of Sikkim. Only citizens of India can visit the pass, that too after obtaining a permit in Gangtok.

The beautiful Nepali-style Dhirdham temple is a Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva located south of the Darjeeling market center and just below the Toy Train Railway Station. It was constructed by the King of Nepal, Purna Bahadur Pradhan in the year 1939. The temple was designed by the Gorkhali architect Beg Raj Sakya. He wanted to create a replica of the Pashupatinath temple complex of Katmandu of Nepal. The temple looks like a multi-layered pagoda from outside and resembles the Pasupatinath temple in architecture.
