Havelock

#

Havelock Island is part of Ritchie’s Archipelago, in India’s Andaman Islands. It’s known for its dive sites and beaches, like Elephant Beach, with its coral reefs. Crescent-shaped Radhanagar Beach is a popular spot for watching the sunset. On the island’s east side, rocky sections mark long, tree-lined Vijaynagar Beach. The island's forested interior is home to birdlife such as white-headed mynas and woodpeckers.


Jolly Buoy

Jolly Buoy Island is in Andaman and Nicobar and is a part of Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. It is very famous for under water corals and the pristine clear beach.This is located in Mahatma Gandhi National Park. Wandoor beach is 30 Kms from Port Blair by road. This route is same for visiting Red Skin island also. Both Jolly buoy and Red skin are located at Mahatma Gandhi National park. The boats to Jolly buoy island leaves by 9.00am.

Also known as Coral Island, North Bay Island is a beautiful beach island, placed just northwards of Port Blair. The beach is easily accessible via ferry, from Port Blair. It is known for coral underwater treasures. There are vibrant corals, colorful fishes and variety of vegetation. This is an ideal place for snorkeling and scuba diving. The white sandy beach and serene atmosphere are the real charmers. North Bay Island is a bit crowded as it is nearest to Port Blair and offer wonderful experiences to the tourists.


Port Blair

Port Blair on South Andaman Island is the capital city of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, an Indian territory in the Bay of Bengal. Its seafront Cellular Jail, completed in 1906, hints at its past as a British penal colony and is now a memorial to Indian independence activists. Inland, the Samudrika Marine Museum showcases local marine life. The Anthropological Museum focuses on the islands’ indigenous tribes.


Ross Island

Ross Island is an island of the Andaman Islands. It belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.The island is situated 3 km east from downtown Port Blair. The historic ruins are a tourist attraction.After Archibald Blair's survey of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 1788, a settlement was established at present day Port Blair (then called Port Cornwallis). In 1792 it was shifted to the Northern harbour (present day Diglipur) which was also christened Port Cornwallis (the former became Old Harbour). But, that settlement was abandoned in 1796 because of the high mortality rate. Between 1789-92, Blair established a hospital and a sanatorium at Ross Island.


Viper

Viper Island is an island of the Andaman Islands. It belongs to the South Andaman district of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.The island lies 4 km west of Port Blair.Viper Island derives its name from the vessel H.M.S. Viper in which Lt. Archibald Blair came to Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 1789. The vessel, it is believed, met with an accident and its wreckage was found near the island. This small island was the site of the jail where the British used to imprison convicts and political prisoners. It has the ruins of a gallows atop a hillock.
